If you’ve been staying tuned you noticed that I’ve been writing out a story. Every Tuesday and every Friday a new passage would come out to delight those who yearn for days of yore. And yes, I know how corny that sounds.
I’ve come to a part that I thought would write itself, yet it hasn’t. As such, I’m in the middle of a block. Events have transpired and I need to consider every reaction, from every character. I have to consider this obstacle very carefully, for each action has a consequence. Each word has weight, and each character has to hold that weight, and be able to do it naturally.
Truth is, I didn’t plan on writing this. It was part of an on-line lesson on novel writing. The final tasks were to summarize a story from beginning to end, create character profiles, and a bunch of other stuff I can’t even remember. But then I thought, “Mr. Cliff, it’s already written out in your head. And this would be your first tragedy, so why not?”
Thing is, it’s not really my style, I guess. But then I did write two short stories involving wizards. Maybe it’s I don’t want it to be my style. I try, but it always comes back to this. Fine, whatever!
So all I can promise right now is that I will have something Tuesday. Stay tuned.
