I meant to be more consistent with my posts. What did I say, Tuesdays and Fridays? And there I go, missing Tuesday. You should all be very disappointed in me. Slap my wrist or something. I’m not even going to say I’ve been busy. It was my own fault. That being said…
So I’m working on this new story and now I’m stuck on a conversation. I know what has to be said, I just can’t figure out how to lead everyone to their statements. I’m sure I’ll figure it out, It’s just going to take some focus (Ha, I’ll bet you thought I was going to say ‘time’).
Anyway, I’m going to get to it. Check out the quickies, there fun and exciting. After all, gotta keep writing!
Oh, and I’m taking this new course on novel writing, and it wants me to work on being descriptive without being literal. In other words, instead of saying, ‘the field was full of red and gold marigolds that waved in the wind’, I would say ‘I stood in the field surrounded by reds and golds, the wind caressing both my cheeks and the colors, contentment showing on my face.’ I know, it could use some work, but the idea is to describe a scene using the senses other than sight. It’s quite an exercise and one I’m going to incorporate into a lot of my writing. I think I’m going to do a few re-writes of my older stories, just to see what happens. Wish me luck!
